The Secret To Recruiting That Top Earners AREN’T Teaching You
What skills has your upline taught you that were life-changing? Don’t worry I’ll wait…
The reason why 90-95% of network marketers fail is not due to their work ethic or inability to follow the company’s system. It's not because of their product or current market conditions. It’s not even due to their sales pitch or lack of people skills. The fact of the matter is most network marketers have the drive that should take them to the top! They're willing to put in hours upon hours of work, go through awkward and embarrassing moments to try to present their product or opportunity, and even work for free or go into debt to try to get their business off the ground.
Sadly, even with all this drive and determination, they are still DOOMED to fail. The worst part is that it is no fault of theirs. It is due to the lack of support and proper guidance from their upline. Their upline keeps giving them information that is stunting the growth of the business. And because of the trust we have in our upline, we don't question the information, we just do as they say.
Them: "Create a list of 100 names of your closest family and friends"
You: "Okay"
Them: "Invite friends and family you haven't spoken to in years to your house to present the opportunity to them all. Even invite complete strangers over if it means that you'll get a sale or recruit"
You: "Okay"
Them: "Spam your social media with posts about the product or opportunity"
You: "Okay"
You: "Are you sure this will work?"
Them: "You're only one recruit away from a downline explosion"
You: "(Excited) Okay!"
This is NOT proper direction and worse off it's killing your reputation! The people that you attack with this approach will start avoiding you just to avoid the awkward "no" at the end of the sales pitch that they already know you're gearing up for whenever you reach out.
Why doesn't your upline teach you skills that you can benefit from? Like how to actually market yourself and your product. How to position yourself as the authority in your space. How to actually develop a following of people who actually know and need what you're offering. Or how to be able to market to these people, sell your product, and even recruit WITHOUT having to spend any time convincing them how great your product or opportunity is.
Unfortunately I can't answer that question. You're just going to have to ask them yourself.
Or better yet, you can learn these skills and teach them to your downline so they won't have to suffer the same pain and humiliation that we had to suffer in an attempt to grow our businesses. I went with the second option. I now have all of the skills necessary to actually market myself and my product. To position myself as the authority in my space. To develop a following of people who actually know and need what I'm offering and to be able to market to these people, sell my product, and even recruit WITHOUT having to spend any time convincing them how great my product and opportunity is. These skills are a necessity if you truly want to make it to the top of this industry!
The first skill you must focus on is developing your personal brand so people can be attracted to you and NOT your company. Think about it, even though you personally believe that you have the best product or the best company, anybody that you approach and immediately try to sell them on having the same idea will immediately tune you out because that’s how we are programmed. Or let’s flip it and say your prospect believes that your offer is great and so is the company but doesn’t believe in you as a person or a leader, you will end up facing the same rejection. What you must focus on is building enough trust within that person so that they believe in you! The product or opportunity is secondary. I actually have people asking to join me without even knowing what company I’m in because of how I am positioned and the trust I build within them, which just goes to prove this point further. That is why it is imperative that you work on developing your personal brand before worrying about pushing the company’s offers.
To add to my personal brand, I've developed a system of generating leads that runs so well I no longer waste any of my time by prospecting or convincing people who don't want to hear my offer. I only spend time talking to people who are serious about the opportunity which allows me to have more free time which I spend by teaching my downline the same strategies so can also learn and benefit from these skills as well.
I used to feel bad when I would recruit someone and not be able to support them as much as I would want to or they would need because I was too busy for them, and they would end up leaving. Now I am passionate about developing my downline, giving them the support they would need, and watching them grow to become great. If you are not getting the support you need from your current upline, feel free to reach out and I would love to give you guidance and point you in the right direction to become great in your space!
